Ajax defeat Juventus and progress to the Uefa Champions league semi-finals....They are making history in the Champions League.

If anybody asked me if i believed in miracles before the UEFA Champions League Quarter-Finals second legs matches kicked off yesterday i would have said no,but what transpired yesterday led me to believe that miracles indeed exist.Yesterday history didn't repeat itself...... Infact History Was Made.

Tuesday the 16th of April is the day that will go in history as the day Ajax Amsterdam thrashed Italian heavyweights Juventus 2-1 and stormed into the UEFA Champions league semi-finals in style.This is a day that Ajax fans and the rest of the of the footballing community will recall for many,many more years to come as underdogs Ajax laid waste to Tournament favorites and Italian giants Juventus.What Ajax displayed what can only be described as Total Football.....it was absolutely magical.......and this all happened at Juventus own backyard.....at the Allianz Stadium,Turin, in Italy.Ajax produced one of the best comebacks in the history of the competition.

When Ajax defeated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu people said it was just mere luck and also pointed to the Los Blanchos shaky performance this season.Now they have defeated another football Giant Juventus at their own backyard again......frankly speaking i think this tells us a lot about this team and it's aspirations in this edition of the  UEFA Champions league,and how strong they are as a team this season.

It's not everyday that you get to witness a David killing a Goliath especially in soccer,but in this scenario it's what totally transpired. Cr7 opened the scoring with a header in the 28th minute but 21 year old Donny Van Beek restored clarity with a 34th minute well deserved equalizer......then 19 year old Captain Matthjis De Ligt leading by example delivered the final blow in the 67th minute.This is the goal that took them to the UEFA Champions league semi-finals.Ajax showed their composure throughout the whole game.
The Ajax team is composed of very young players like De  ligt(19),Van Beek(21),Frenkie De Jong(21),David Neres(22),Hakim Ziyech(26) among many more.They might be young but they play a mature and exciting type of football and have surely attracted the attention of major clubs in Europe.I have no doubt that if Ajax retain these soccer stars,it won't take long for them to once again become a European football powerhouse they once were.

I will never forget the reaction of the Juventus fans when Ajax Captain Matthjs De Ligt headed home the match winner...they just stared at the pitch with astonishment...they were stunned...they kept hoping their team would come back and eventually win the game as they always do,but this night was not to be.Ajax held onto their their lead and even threatened to score more goals,they were ruthless and clinical at the same time.They put in all they had and ere rewarded for it....they thoroughly deserved to win.They surely put in a show,or let me say....they put in a showpiece.

The fact that they overcame a side that is composed of big names such as  Cristiano Ronaldo, Miralem Pjanic,Paulo Dybala among others,is absolutely amazing.This Juventus outfit has been outstanding this season especially with the addition of Cr7,but this did stop the Netherlands side from running circles around them.There is no doubt that they sent a strong message to Man City/Tottenham camps....and the message is that the mean business in this edition of the Champions league and they should not be taken lightly....they are a force to reckon with.

Now we wait to see which team will win the match between the Citizens and Hot Spurs later on tonight ,and Ajax faithfuls wait to see who their opponents will be.....
