Uefa Champions League quarter finals......which teams will progress to the semi-finals.....?

A lot has happened in the soccer world since my last post...  but today i want us to concentrate on Europe's elite competition.....The Uefa Champions League.

The Uefa Champions league Quarter-final 1st legs kicked off on Tuesday night and soccer fans throughout the globe got to witness some of Europe's top teams clash for a chance to book a place in the finals or better yet win the much coveted trophy.

The final will be played at the gigantic Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid....the home stadium of Atletico Madrid....it's a pity they will no longer be participating in the prestigious tournament after being knocked out by Italian heavyweights,Juventus.....courtesy of a Christiano Ronaldo hat-trick.It was going to be a pleasure for their fans to watch their team play in their recently renovated home-ground in the  Champions League final.

On Tuesday night Liverpool thrashed Fc Porto 2-0 at Anfield, courtesy of Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino 5 minute and 26 minutes goals respectively.Liverpool have just made life easier for themselves ahead of the return match at the Estadio Do Dragao in Porto,Portugal.Nevertheless they should not let their guard down because Porto will surely be out for revenge and to cause a big upset in the competition. For highlights of the game CLICK HERE

Tottenham managed to salvage all three points against Manchester City,in a tightly contested match.......the only goal scored by Heung-Min Son in the 78 minute. We all await to see what pep has
in store for Pochettino...we all know that he is a strategist and a good one for that matter. The return leg promises fireworks and we all know how relentless the Citizens can be when need be.CLICK HERE FOR MATCH HIGHLIGHTS.

Wednesday night saw Ajax and Juventus share in the spoils following a 1-1 draw at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam..... Cristiano Ronaldo put "The Old
Lady" in the driving seat  in the stroke of half-time,with a stunning diving header that beat the Ajax goal-minder all systems out.....however Ajax quickly leveled matters in the 1st minute of the 2nd half, with a unstoppable solo effort from  David Neres. Will Ajax repeat again what they did to the reigning Uefa Champions Real Madrid or this time CR7 and his counterparts will be out for a kill?....Juventus have an amazing record when playing at home and frankly speaking....Ajax have an extremely hard target.........CLICK HERE TO VIEW MATCH HIGHLIGHTS.

In another epic thriller Barcelona beat Manchester United 1-0 courtesy of an own goal from Luke Shaw. This leaves the Red Devils with a mammoth task of qualifying for the semi-finals as they have to go to the imposing Nou Camp and produce a win........this seems very unlikely if you ask me,but they beat French giants PSG 3-0 in their own
backyard,so anything is possible.CLICK HERE FOR MATCH HIGHLIGHTS.

"With Solskjaer anything is possible"....that's what the Man united community is saying these days......

Also of great note is the presence of two teams that in my own opinion have reached a milestone in Europe's Elite competition,by virtue of making it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.......Fc Porto and especially Ajax have managed to raise their country's flags very high this season and i hope they will continue to do so in many seasons to come.......They put in a valiant effort and the rest of the footballing community respects that...
