A Recap Of All the Continental Soccer Tournaments.....Which Country Won What?

Over the past 2 and a half months a lot has happened all around the globe in the world of football....We got to witness different countries do battle for the top spot in their respective Continents.

The major premier leagues around the world were off season but that didn't stop us from enjoying the world's most beautiful game ....in fact we got to witness nothing but thrilling and spectacular Continental football action.As usual some countries made their fans happy while others disappointed their fans.....but on the lighter side i always like to urge fans not to despair as there is always a next time for your country to do you proud. 

In Europe Christiano Ronaldo's Portugal were proud victors of  the recently introduced UEFA Nations League,beating Netherlands by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.CR7 and his team mates got to add more silverware for their country...their performance was indeed excellent and they truly deserved to win the tournament

In South America Brazil lifted the Copa America Cup after a flawless performance throughout the whole tournament.They emerged 3-1 victors over underdogs Peru.The "Samba Boys"excellent performance brought their Copa America titles to 9.This was by all means an exciting tournament as the Selecao displayed their quality and won the tournament in their own backyard,much to the joy of their fans.

In North and Central America and the Caribbeans Mexico emerged as tournament winners of the CONCACAF Gold Cup courtesy of a 1-0 victory against against tournament hosts the USA.Most people thought that  the "YANKS"(USA) would fully utilise their home advantage,but it was not to be as they were humiliated by the Mexicans in their own backyard.Mexico have now won the prestigious title 8 times since it's formation in 1991.

Meanwhile in Africa.....Riyad Mahrez's Algeria beat  Sadio Mane's Senegal 1-0 in the "Clash of the Titans" finals to lift the 2019 AFCON Cup.Algeria put in an awesome performance throughout  the whole tournament and were rewarded for it.Fans throughout Africa and the world at large got to witness Africa's finest in action and i'm happy to say that the tournament lived up to it's expectations.One the biggest surprises was the defeat of Egypt,who were tournament favorites an hosts by a resurgent  "Bafana Bafana" (South African side). The "desert foxes" have now won the AFCON CUP twice.

There is no doubt that soccer fans around the world really enjoyed what Continental football had to offer and also got to witness their soccer stars in action and new and emerging talent worldwide.Which tournament did you enjoy watching and what did you think went wrong or right for your team?
