Today all soccer loving fans in South Africa and across the world wait eagerly for undoubtedly the best soccer rivalry match in the country...a truly top the table clash and now a historic clash between two of the best soccer and biggest soccer clubs in South Africa......pitting Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
This clash has been given a unique name...."The Soweto Derby"......some football fanatics call it the South African El Classico......because every time these giant football teams meet...they always live up to people's expectations and it's always a mouth-watering clash.People come out from every corner of the world to witness this epic soccer clash
As i speak right now tickets have been sold out for this monumental event.....and a capacity of 87 500 fans will attend the derby.Chiefs and Pirates meet in the 166th Soweto derby.I think those statistics tell you a lot about the magnitude of this derby.
Chiefs are in sixth place in the Absa Premier Soccer League on 27 points from 19 matches‚ 10 points behind leaders Bidvest Wits (37 from 19).
Pirates are in third place on 32 points from 18 games‚ five behind Wits but with a game in hand.

This season Orlando pirates has already defeated Kaizer Chiefs twice in the Absa premier league andthe Telkom Knockout Cup.Today Kaizer Chiefs have a home advantage and fans to back them up all the way... Kaizer chiefs are clearly under a lot of pressure to prove themselves to their fans and the rest of the world that they are still a force to reckon with in South African football.
Today tears will be shed and dreams will be shattered....after all it's soccer and one team has to win....except if the result is a stalemate.
The first leg saw Orlando Pirates defeat Kaizer chiefs 2-1 at the giant Orlando stadium.....
